Community
The heart of our local United Way is a caring community where everyone works together to help our neighbors in need. In addition to the annual community campaign, our local United Way works closely with other nonprofits, businesses, and organizations in a variety of productive and meaningful ways. The result is an increased capacity for people to care for one another.
Agency Roundtable
On a quarterly basis, United Way partner agencies join together to network, share best practices, and learn from one another. This unique opportunity gives agencies valuable insight from other partner agencies, as well as discussion on topics of interest determined by the group. Recent discussion topics have included budgeting, staff retention, and emergency planning.
PAC 14
Through the generosity of PAC 14, United Way tapes a monthly program highlighting various programs and events. PAC 14 is a combined Public, Educational, and Government Access channel which serves the Wicomico County Area. Hosted by Aaron Reid, United Way Director of Donor Relations, the show has proven to be an effective way to share the successes of United Way with the PAC 14 viewing audience. Recent episodes have included Bill Middleton, 2006 Campaign Chair, Julie Duer-Clayton, Holiday Ball Chair, and Peggy Bradford, Executive Director of M.A.C., Inc.
United Way proudly thanks PAC 14 for it's dedication to our community by allowing us a forum in which to share our message. For a programming schedule, please visit the PAC 14 website at http://pac14.org/.
Clothing Distribution
Each month, stores from the White Marlin Mall factory outlets in Ocean City donate brand new clothing that would otherwise be discarded. These generous donations allow our local United Way to give the clothing to agencies serving people who cannot afford adequate clothing for themselves and their families. A heartfelt THANKS is given to our friends at White Marlin for helping our neighbors in need.
