Alexis de Tocqueville Society

Alexis de Tocqueville was a French writer who visited the United States in the early 1800s.  He was impressed by the spirit of selflessness and cooperation among American citizens.  United Way’s Tocqueville Society personifies the true meaning of philanthropy with members giving over $10,000 or more annually.  Currently there are over 398 local Tocqueville Societies in the United States.
