Our local United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore provides funding for a wide range of health and human service agencies in Wicomico, Somerset, Worcester, and Dorchester counties. Whether it is Meals on Wheels for a homebound senior, food for a hungry child, or hospice care for a terminally ill patient without health insurance, every dollar is spent toward addressing issues that matter most in our community and delivers meaningful results.
Accountability, efficiency, and serious stewardship of every contribution are priorities and evident with low administrative costs of 15% (compared to 34% for charities nationally). Adding to the high level of stewardship is the fact that ALL DOLLARS STAY LOCALLY, and each year every program is intensely analyzed by an expert panel of local volunteers to insure all dollars are truly changing lives.
